Fitment Notes

• Replacement rings only - these are cast iron rotor rings sold without hats; the existing GiroDisc aluminum hats from the A1-162 kit are reused with new rings and fresh hardware
• Compatible with GiroDisc A1-162 hats ONLY - these rings are not designed to work with OEM Ford hats, any other brand's hats, or factory 2-piece rotor hats; attempting to use them with non-GiroDisc hats will result in incorrect fitment

Product Description

The GiroDisc D1-162 is a pair of 394 mm front replacement rotor rings for the GiroDisc A1-162 two-piece front rotor kit fitted to the 2015-2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 and GT350R. The two-piece GiroDisc system is designed from the outset for serviceability: the aluminum hat and floating hardware are fully reusable across multiple ring sets, while only the cast iron rings need to be replaced when they wear to minimum thickness or develop cracks that reach the ring's edge. Purchasing the D1-162 ring set and reusing the existing A1-162 aluminum hats substantially reduces the cost of restoring the front braking system to factory-new performance compared to replacing complete A1-162 assemblies.

The replacement rings are machined from GiroDisc's proprietary cast iron alloy - poured and machined entirely in-house at their Bellingham, WA facility from domestically sourced materials - and carry the same 72 curved internal vane geometry as the original A1-162 rings. This vane architecture acts as a centrifugal pump during rotation, pulling cooling air in through the hub and driving it outward through the disc face to maintain lower rotor temperatures under the sustained high-load front braking that the GT350's Brembo 6-piston caliper system generates. Each ring carries the same slotted surface as the original, keeping the pad contact face swept clear of debris, gases, and brake dust throughout the rotor's service life.

Each D1-162 set includes two rings and two complete hardware kits - new drive pins, grade 12 cap screws, hardened washers, and anti-noise spring washers - with full re-assembly instructions. Old hardware should not be reused. These rings are designed exclusively for GiroDisc A1-162 aluminum hats and are not compatible with OEM Ford two-piece hats or any other brand's hat hardware. The matching rear axle replacement rings for the A2-162 rear rotor kit are GiroDisc D2-162. All D1-162 components are manufactured at GiroDisc's facility in Bellingham, WA.
