Fitment Notes

  • EA211 engine family only -- 1.2 TSI and 1.4 TSI
  • For vehicles with NO factory diverter valve -- EA211 engines leave the factory without one
  • Not compatible with EA888 or other VAG engines that have a factory diverter valve
  • No MAF sensor on EA211 -- venting to atmosphere causes no fuelling or drivability issues
  • Clips into factory turbo charge piping -- no tools required
  • Spring preload adjustment optional -- not required for operation

Features

  • VTA (Vents To Atmosphere) -- delivers signature blow-off "whoosh" sound
  • Eliminates turbo compressor surge on throttle lift
  • Patented pilot-operated piston -- progressive open/close, not binary
  • TMS (Turbo Management System) -- preserves boost pressure for faster recovery
  • Faster boost recovery on gearshift and throttle modulation
  • Lightning-fast operation -- faster than factory electronic diverter valves
  • Boost pressure forces piston shut -- will not leak or blow open under high boost
  • CNC machined metal components and elastomer piston seal
  • Billet CNC machined charge pipe section included
  • No tools required -- complete kit clips in
  • Capable of handling upwards of 50 PSI
  • Manufactured in Australia -- ISO 9001
  • Lifetime warranty

Product Description

The GFB T9430 is a VTA (Vents To Atmosphere) blow-off valve designed specifically for Audi, VW, and Skoda vehicles fitted with the 1.2 or 1.4 TSI EA211 engine. Unlike most modern turbocharged VAG engines, the EA211 leaves the factory with no diverter valve of any kind. The intake tract is acoustically tuned to suppress the sound of compressor surge, but the pressure pulses themselves go unaddressed. The T9430 reintroduces a blow-off valve into the system, eliminating compressor surge to protect the turbo and delivering the signature atmospheric "whoosh" on throttle lift. Because EA211 engines do not use a MAF sensor, venting to atmosphere creates no fuelling or drivability issues.

Installation requires no tools -- the kit replaces a short plastic joiner in the factory charge piping with a billet CNC machined section onto which the VTA valve mounts. A boost tap and vacuum hose clip onto an existing manifold vacuum port to source the signal. GFB's patented pilot-operated piston opens and closes progressively, venting only the pressure needed to eliminate surge before beginning to close. This TMS behavior preserves boost in the intercooler after the throttle lift, enabling faster return to peak boost on the next input. Capable of handling upwards of 50 PSI. Backed by GFB's lifetime warranty. Manufactured in Australia to ISO 9001 standards.
