Vehicle Fitment

  • Universal - designed for loading vehicles, ATVs, UTVs, motorcycles, and wheeled equipment onto flatbed trailers, car hauler trailers, loading docks, and truck beds. Compatible with deck heights from 15 in. to 36 in. Not vehicle-specific.

Fitment Notes

  • Designed specifically for low-clearance single-vehicle car hauler trailers, but compatible with any trailer deck or loading surface between 15 in. and 36 in. in height.
  • The hybrid hook and plate ramp ends allow these ramps to hook directly onto car hauler trailer deck edges (hook style), or rest flat against other surfaces such as loading docks and truck beds where a flat plate contact is more appropriate - a versatility that single-end-style ramps do not provide.
  • Each ramp is 15 in. wide - suitable for standard vehicle tire widths. Two ramps are required for loading four-wheeled vehicles; confirm that the track width of your vehicle's tires will be properly supported by two ramps placed at the appropriate spacing before use.
  • Capacity is 5,000 lbs PER RAMP - for two-ramp loading of a four-wheeled vehicle, the total system capacity is 10,000 lbs combined, but the weight on each individual ramp at any point during loading must not exceed 5,000 lbs.
  • These ramps are not adjustable in length and do not fold - they are fixed 96 in. (8 ft.) straight ramps. Confirm storage space is available for 8 ft. ramps before ordering.
  • Sold as a PAIR - two (2) ramps per package. The single-ramp version is GEN-Y GH-16096-1.

Features

  • 5,000 lb capacity per ramp - each GH-16096 ramp is rated to 5,000 lbs, providing the structural margin required for loading full-size vehicles, loaded utility trailers, riding equipment, and heavy wheeled machinery onto trailers and docks without the capacity concern that limits lighter consumer-grade aluminum ramps to ATVs and motorcycles only.
  • Hybrid hook and plate ramp ends - the GH-16096's hybrid end design provides both hook-style engagement and flat plate contact in a single ramp end, allowing the same ramps to hook securely onto the deck edges of car hauler trailers for a fixed, non-slip connection during vehicle loading, or to rest flat on loading docks, truck bed surfaces, and other flat loading surfaces where a hook engagement is not possible or appropriate. This dual functionality eliminates the need to own separate ramps for different loading applications.
  • Wide plate-style serrated cross rungs for maximum traction - rather than round or square tubing rungs that provide limited tire contact and minimal grip, the GH-16096 uses wide plate-style cross rungs with a serrated surface pattern. The wider plate contact and serrated grip surface maximize traction for rubber tires across the full ramp width, including in the muddy, wet, and debris-covered conditions typical of outdoor loading and unloading use.
  • All-aluminum construction welded by Certified AWS Welders - the ramps are fabricated entirely from aluminum using welds performed by welders certified to American Welding Society (AWS) standards. AWS certification verifies that welds meet consistent strength, penetration, and quality standards - a relevant distinction on ramps where weld failure under load is the primary structural failure mode, and where non-certified welding is common in lower-cost alternatives.
  • Lightweight without sacrificing capacity - aluminum's strength-to-weight ratio allows the GH-16096 to deliver 5,000 lb per ramp capacity from a construction that is substantially lighter than steel ramps of equivalent capacity, making the ramps practical for one or two-person handling, repositioning, and storage without mechanical equipment.
  • 96 in. (8 ft.) length - the 8 ft. ramp length provides a gradual loading angle across the 15-36 in. deck height range the ramps are designed for, reducing the slope that vehicles must climb during loading and minimizing the risk of ground contact for vehicles with limited approach angle clearance.
  • Deck height range 15-36 in. - covers the full range of standard trailer deck heights, from single-axle car haulers and motorcycle trailers at lower deck heights through gooseneck and heavier equipment trailers at higher deck heights.
  • Made in the USA - GEN-Y Hitch manufactures the GH-16096 domestically, consistent with the company's US manufacturing commitment across its full product line.
  • Limited Lifetime Warranty - backed by GEN-Y's limited lifetime warranty against structural defects.

Product Description

The GEN-Y Hitch GH-16096 is a pair of heavy-duty 8-foot aluminum loading ramps measuring 96 in. long by 15 in. wide with a 5,000 lb capacity per ramp, designed for loading vehicles, wheeled equipment, and wheeled machinery onto trailer decks and loading docks between 15 in. and 36 in. in height. Purpose-built for low-clearance single-vehicle car hauler trailer loading, the GH-16096 uses a hybrid hook and plate end design that accommodates both car hauler trailer deck edges - where the hook engages for a fixed, secure connection during vehicle loading - and flat loading surfaces like docks and truck beds, where the plate end rests flat without requiring a hook engagement point. This dual-end versatility means the same pair of ramps handles both trailer loading and dock or truck bed loading situations without requiring a separate ramp set for each application.

The wide plate-style serrated cross rungs distinguish the GH-16096 from round-rung aluminum ramps. Round tubing rungs provide a small, curved contact patch with vehicle tires and minimal grip texture; the GH-16096's plate-style rungs provide a wider, flatter contact surface with a serrated pattern that grips tire rubber in muddy, wet, and loose-dirt conditions typical of outdoor loading environments. The 5,000 lb per ramp capacity is delivered from all-aluminum construction welded by Certified AWS Welders - a specification that confirms consistent weld quality and penetration across the high-stress joint locations on each ramp, where weld failure under load is the primary structural failure mode and where non-certified welding is the standard in lower-cost alternatives.

At 8 feet in length, the GH-16096 provides a gradual loading angle through the 15-36 in. deck height range, accommodating vehicles with limited approach angle clearance and reducing the slope that loads must climb during ramp use. The ramps are fixed-length and non-folding - confirm that 8 ft. of storage space is available before ordering. The single-ramp version for one-ramp applications is GEN-Y GH-16096-1. The GH-16096 is made in the USA by GEN-Y Hitch and backed by a limited lifetime warranty. Sold as a pair.
