Product Description

The Gates T184RB is the RPM High Performance "Blue" timing belt for the Honda/Acura B-series engine family - covering 1990-2001 Acura Integra (all trims, all B-series variants) and 1997-2001 Honda CR-V. It is also widely used in B20-swapped Civic and Integra builds, as the 125-tooth belt is shared across the B-series engine platform.

Unlike the standard Gates T184 (OE-equivalent replacement), the T184RB is built with HNBR compound, aramid-reinforced teeth, and high-modulus tensile cords that make it up to 300% stronger and three times more heat-resistant than conventional aftermarket timing belts. This makes it the preferred choice for modified, high-revving, or boosted B-series builds where standard belts may be pushed beyond their design limits. Because the B18 and B20 are interference engines, a belt failure results in catastrophic piston-to-valve contact - the T184RB's enhanced strength and wear resistance provide a meaningful safety margin over standard belts. Gates recommends replacing the timing belt tensioner, idler, and water pump at the same time as the belt.
