Product Description

The Garrett 908829-0003 GVW-50 is a 50mm external wastegate in Black, designed by the same Garrett engineers behind the G-Series and GTX Gen II turbochargers. This high-flow wastegate regulates turbocharger shaft speed by precisely venting exhaust gas around the turbine stage, delivering optimum boost control across the entire RPM range. The CFD-optimized internal flow path maximizes exhaust throughput while the 50mm valve provides ample capacity for high-horsepower turbocharged applications where precise boost management is critical.

The valve housing is cast from high-temperature stainless steel rated for exhaust gas temperatures up to 1050°C (1922°F), and the Nomex reinforced elastomer diaphragm delivers exceptional fatigue resistance with minimal actuation degradation over extreme heat cycling. Liquid-cooled actuator ports are integrated for severe-duty applications, reducing body temperatures by up to 52%. The easy-service cap design allows quick spring changes and diaphragm replacement without special tools, and replaceable valve and bushing components extend the overall service life of the unit. The standard base spring pressure is 1 bar (14.5 PSI), with an adjustable range from 0.2 to 1.7 bar (3-25 PSI) at a 1:1 backpressure ratio. All necessary springs, flanges, V-band clamps, and fittings are included. Also available in Red, Blue, and Silver finishes, and in 40mm (GVW-40) and 45mm (GVW-45) sizes.
