Product Description

The Garrett 908827-0003 is a GVW-40 external wastegate in Black, the smallest size in Garrett's Vent performance wastegate line, built by the same engineers behind the G-Series and GTX Gen II turbochargers. CFD-optimized for maximum flow and thermal efficiency, it regulates turbocharger shaft speed by venting exhaust gas around the turbine stage, with a valve housing cast from high-temp stainless steel rated up to 1050°C.

Where most wastegates degrade in performance as heat cycling and wear take their toll, Garrett's testing shows the GVW maintains linear actuation control even after extreme thermal cycling, keeping calibration accurate throughout the product's life. A liquid-cooled actuator option drops peak body temperature from 270°C down to 130°C under severe conditions, while replaceable valve and bushing components extend service life without requiring a full unit replacement.

Base pressure ships set to 1 Bar (14.5 PSI) and can be configured from 0.2 to 1.7 Bar (3 to 25 PSI), with the 40mm flange cross-compatible with Precision 39mm hardware. The kit includes every fitting needed for installation -- springs, V-bands, flanges, and water fittings. For best flow and boost control, Garrett recommends a 45° manifold connection; mounting at 90° or greater can cut flow capacity in half and risks overboosting.
