Product Description

The Garrett 953223-5001S PowerMax is a direct-fit performance turbocharger engineered for the 2009-2023 Fiat 500 Abarth 1.4L I4. It replaces the factory Garrett turbo (OEM PN 55275806 / 812812-5006S) with a performance-upgraded MGT1446Z assembly that delivers a +26% increase in compressor flow over the OEM unit, supporting up to 250 BHP / 186 kW capability. The PowerMax bolts directly to the factory mounting locations and reuses the OEM oil and coolant connections, intake and exhaust interfaces, and factory actuator mounting -- no custom fabrication or adapter hardware is required. A calibrated actuator is included in the complete assembly. The turbocharger features a fully machined shaft speed sensor port, allowing optional installation of a turbo speed monitoring system to protect against overspeed -- particularly important when operating at higher performance levels. Maximum allowable shaft speed is 240,000 RPM, and exceeding this limit is at the owner's risk. Compatible speed sensor options include the G-Smart Bluetooth Module (923586-0002), the Street Kit with gauge (781328-0001), and the Pro Kit without gauge (781328-0002), all sold separately. ECU calibration or tuning may be required to achieve the full stated power capability, as horsepower figures are based on laboratory compressor flow testing.
