Where the 71804 targets fine 6-micron filtration with a disposable micro-fiberglass element, the 71802 takes a different approach - a coarser 40-micron stainless steel mesh built to be cleaned and reused rather than replaced. That makes it a practical choice for racing applications where quick maintenance matters more than maximum fine-particle capture.

Compatible across gas, diesel, ethanol, and methanol, it drops into the same 3-inch Fuelab 818/828 series housings, so switching between filtration levels is as simple as swapping the element and reusing the included O-rings.
