Product Description

The FOX 980-24-656 2.0 Performance Series IFP shock is a dual-application smooth body shock covering the front of the 1999-2004 Ford Super Duty F-250 through F-550, and the rear of the F-450/F-550 across a much longer 1999-2016 window. Its 2.0" impact extruded, CNC machined 6061-T6 clear anodized aluminum body resists rust while dissipating heat faster than a conventional steel shock body under demanding conditions.

Inside, an Internal Floating Piston separates the shock oil from the high-pressure nitrogen charge, reducing aeration and maintaining consistent damping performance even through repeated hard impacts. A race-developed high-flow piston works with application-specific valving to deliver balanced control across daily driving, towing, and off-road use, backed by a 5/8" hard chrome-plated, heat-treated alloy steel shaft for genuine long-term strength.

A redundant sealing pack system -- main, wiper, and scraper seals -- keeps dirt and moisture away from critical internal components, and eyelet mounts at both ends allow for a direct bolt-on installation. Sold individually, this shock supports 1.5"-3" of lift in front applications and 0"-1.5" in rear F-450/F-550 applications; FOX recommends verifying exact measurements against your specific aftermarket suspension setup.
