Fitment Notes

  • Front position only - sold as a single coilover; order two for a complete front pair
  • Compatible with 2WD and 4WD drivetrain configurations across all supported trims
  • Supports 0-2 inches of front lift via adjustable spring preload ring
  • Bolt-on direct replacement using OEM front strut mounting points - no drilling or modifications required
  • Aftermarket upper control arms (UCAs) are recommended at higher lift settings to restore proper suspension geometry; UCAs not included
  • Not compatible with factory KDSS (Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System) equipped models without appropriate KDSS spacer or deletion
  • Pairs with FOX 2.5 Performance Series rear shock (sold separately) for a complete front-to-rear upgrade on these platforms
  • Alignment recommended after installation

Features

  • FOX 2.5 Performance Series IFP (Internal Floating Piston) monotube coilover - IFP design permanently separates shock oil from high-pressure nitrogen gas to eliminate aeration and maintain consistent, fade-resistant damping across all conditions
  • Larger 2.5-inch body over standard 2.0" coilovers delivers greater internal oil volume and superior heat dissipation for extended performance under demanding off-road use
  • Application-specific valving precision-engineered by FOX for the TNGA-F platform shared by the 2025+ 4Runner, 2024+ LC250, and 2024+ GX550, optimizing on-road comfort and off-road control for the weight and geometry of these vehicles
  • 2.5-inch smooth bore zinc-plated seamless steel body for long-lasting durability and corrosion resistance
  • 7/8-inch hard chrome-plated heat-treated alloy steel shaft for superior strength and resistance to wear and bending
  • Black-anodized CNC-machined 6061-T6 billet aluminum components throughout
  • Locking spring preload ring allows easy ride height adjustment within the 0-2-inch lift range
  • OEM-style top mount with composite bushing isolates NVH for a refined on-road feel
  • High-flow velocity-sensitive damping piston for precise, progressive response on- and off-road
  • 100% serviceable and re-valvable for long-term ownership and tunability
  • Torture-tested and race-proven to FOX factory quality standards

Product Description

The FOX 987-02-015 is a front coilover engineered specifically for the TNGA-F platform - covering the 2025-2026 Toyota 4Runner, 2024-2026 Toyota Land Cruiser LC250, and 2024-2026 Lexus GX 550 in all trim levels. The step up to a 2.5-inch body over the standard 2.0 Performance Series provides greater internal oil volume and meaningfully improved heat management, which translates to more consistent damping behavior on long off-road drives or repeated hard compressions. The IFP monotube design permanently separates oil and nitrogen, eliminating the aeration and damping fade that afflict conventional shock designs under heavy use.

FOX's application-specific valving is calibrated for the weight distribution and suspension travel characteristics of these three platforms, which share common geometry despite their different branding. The result is a coilover that delivers noticeably more controlled and settled behavior than factory struts - both on the highway and on trail - without sacrificing ride quality on daily driving surfaces. Installation is a direct bolt-on to the OEM front strut mount points across all supported trims including TRD Pro and Trailhunter, with no modifications required. Up to 2 inches of front lift is available via the adjustable spring preload ring. For owners building toward more aggressive setups, the 987-02-015 pairs naturally with FOX rear shocks tuned for the same platform, and is fully compatible with aftermarket UCAs for increased travel.
