The EBC S26KF1016 Stage 26 Brake Kit combines EBC Racing's fully-floating 2-piece SG2F front rotors with EBC's flagship Yellowstuff high-friction brake pad compound into a single matched kit engineered for performance-focused Audi S3 and Volkswagen GTI, CC, and Passat owners. Unlike conventional one-piece rotors, the SG2F design uses a floating cast iron friction ring mounted to an aerospace-grade aluminum bell via stainless steel SD-Drive bobbins, allowing the ring to expand and contract freely under heat cycling -- eliminating warping, reducing thermal stress cracking, and delivering a more consistent pedal feel under repeated hard stops.

EBC Yellowstuff pads are built around an aramid-fiber compound that delivers high friction from cold, meaning effective braking begins immediately without requiring a warm-up period. The pads come factory-treated with a brake-in coating that accelerates bedding and eliminates the first-use glazing common with high-performance compounds. Yellowstuff is street-legal and track-capable, making this kit well-suited for drivers who use their S3 or GTI aggressively on backroads or take their car to occasional track days. Note that Yellowstuff generates higher-than-stock wheel dust -- drivers prioritizing low dust should consider a different EBC compound.

This kit mounts directly to factory calipers with zero modifications required, and the 340mm rotor diameter is a direct replacement for vehicles already equipped with 340mm front brakes. On the Volkswagen GTI Mk7/Mk7.5, fitment is specific to models with the factory 340mm rotor -- typically the Performance Pack and SE/Autobahn trims -- and will not fit base GTI trims using 312mm rotors. All components are manufactured in the United Kingdom at EBC's Northampton facility. This kit covers the front axle only; rear brake upgrades are sold separately.
