Fitment Notes

Rear axle rotors only - no pads included. Fits the Type R's factory 305mm x 11mm solid rear brake specification across all FK8 and FL5 generations. Sold as a pair (driver and passenger side). For maximum benefit, pair with EBC Yellowstuff (DP42163R), Bluestuff (DP52163NDX), or Redstuff (DP32163C) rear brake pads. Does NOT fit standard Civic Si or non-Type-R Civic models, which use a smaller rear brake specification.

The EBC SG2163 is a pair of Swept Groove rear brake rotors engineered specifically for the Honda Civic Type R FK8 (2017-2021) and FL5 (2023-2024), along with the Acura Integra Type S DE5. They are the rear companion rotor to EBC's 2-piece fully-floating swept groove front discs used in EBC Balanced Big Brake Kits - designed to provide matched groove geometry and consistent braking feel front to rear when upgrading the full system. They can also be used as a standalone rear upgrade for Type R owners who want a quieter, more consistent slotted rotor than the GD or BSD alternatives while retaining standard rear calipers.

The narrow, progressively angled swept groove pattern is what sets the SG series apart from conventional sport rotors. Unlike GD wide-aperture slots which can generate noticeable wind noise under hard braking, the SG geometry stays near-silent at all speeds while still providing the full suite of slotted rotor benefits - gas evacuation, debris clearance, and consistent pad surface maintenance. On the Type R's rear axle, this matters: the car's front-biased braking balance means rear rotors accumulate less heat but are more sensitive to noise from irregular pad contact.
