Vehicle Fitment

  • 2019-2026 Ram 3500 SRW (Single Rear Wheel) - All Trims: Tradesman, Big Horn/Lone Star, Laramie, Laramie Longhorn, Limited, Limited Longhorn - 2WD/4WD - 6.4L HEMI V8 & 6.7L Cummins Turbo Diesel I6 - Regular Cab, Crew Cab, Mega Cab - Rear Position

Fitment Notes

  • SRW (Single Rear Wheel) fitment only - does not fit Ram 3500 DRW (Dual Rear Wheel) configurations; DRW models use a different rear caliper and rotor application
  • Does not fit Ram 2500 - despite sharing the same platform, the Ram 2500 uses a different rear brake application
  • Rear axle upgrade only - EBC strongly recommends upgrading front brake pads simultaneously with a matching compound; do not install upgraded performance pads on the rear unless the same or equivalent grade is fitted to the front
  • These are a longer bed-in compound - allow 500-700 miles of normal driving before performing loaded stops to fully seat the pads to the rotor surface

Features

  • EBC ED+ Extra Duty carbon granule-based compound - purpose-engineered for heavy-duty trucks, SUVs, and Jeeps operating under towing loads, hauling, lifted suspension with oversized tires, or any scenario where stock brake pads are thermally overmatched
  • GG-rated friction - the highest AMECA-certified friction designation, validated through independent dynamometer testing for consistent, maximum stopping power from cold and under sustained heavy loads
  • Fade-free performance from sub-freezing temperatures to over 1,400°F - well above the thermal ceiling of even the most demanding heavy towing or extended mountain descents with a fully loaded Ram 3500
  • NUCAP NRS mechanical hook technology backing plate - thousands of micro-scale hooks physically interlock the friction compound into the steel backing plate, creating a bond five times stronger than conventional adhesive-only methods and eliminating the risk of pad delamination under heavy use
  • High-volume Vee grooves machined into the pad face - channel heat and gas away from the center hot zone of the pad and sweep debris off the rotor surface, maintaining grip and cooling efficiency during extended braking events
  • Dual slot and chamfer pattern - minimizes brake noise and promotes effective pad degassing under high-heat conditions, keeping pedal feel firm and braking response linear
  • EBC Brake-In red surface coating - conditions the rotor surface and accelerates pad seating from the very first application, enabling safe, effective braking performance immediately after installation without a full break-in cycle
  • NUCAP piston insert insulating shims included - thermally decouple the brake caliper piston from the pad backing plate, preventing heat soak into the brake fluid and eliminating vibration-induced brake noise
  • 100% British-made - manufactured at EBC Brakes' UK factory from aramid fiber with a minimal steel fiber content; extremely rotor-friendly with low dust output and near-silent operation after bed-in

Specifications

Product Description

The EBC ED93124 Extra Duty rear brake pads are designed specifically for the 2019-2026 Ram 3500 in Single Rear Wheel (SRW) configuration - one of the most demanding light-duty brake applications on the market. The Ram 3500 is regularly put to work towing gooseneck trailers at its maximum 37,090 lb capacity, hauling full payloads of construction material, and running on oversized tires behind lifted suspensions - all of which place extreme thermal and mechanical demands on the stock rear brake system. Factory pads are engineered around base vehicle weight at stock tire sizes, and as soon as the Ram 3500 is loaded up, stopping distances can increase and brake fade can set in during repeated hard applications. The ED+ compound directly addresses this by delivering GG-rated, AMECA-certified friction that bites hard from cold and resists fade at temperatures exceeding 1,400°F - far beyond anything a street or work-site driver will encounter, even on the most challenging mountain grade descents with a fully loaded trailer.

The engineering behind the ED93124's long-term reliability centers on EBC's NUCAP NRS hook technology. Unlike conventional brake pads that use adhesive alone to bond the friction material to the steel backing plate, the NRS system deploys thousands of mechanical micro-hooks that physically interlock the compound into the plate. This creates a bond five times stronger than adhesive-only construction, eliminating the pad delamination risk that can occur with conventional pads on heavily loaded trucks experiencing repeated high-temperature stops. The high-volume Vee grooves machined into the face of each pad serve a dual function on work trucks: they vent hot gases from the center of the pad during sustained braking, and they channel grit and debris off the rotor surface on unpaved work sites, keeping the friction interface clean and consistent. Every set ships with NUCAP piston insert insulating shims that fit inside the caliper pistons to thermally isolate the brake fluid from heat soak - particularly important on the Ram 3500's large rear calipers during towing applications.

Installation is a straightforward one-axle pad replacement with basic shop tools in approximately one hour. Because the ED+ compound is a harder, higher-friction material than standard street pads, bed-in takes longer than with softer compounds - EBC recommends 500-700 miles of normal driving followed by several loaded deceleration events on a safe, clear road to fully seat the pads against the rotor surface. Some mild noise at low speeds is normal during this period and will disappear as the pads conform to the rotor. The Brake-In red coating applied to each pad set begins seating the compound and conditioning the rotor from the first stop, ensuring usable braking performance is available immediately after installation. This part number is specific to Ram 3500 SRW configurations - Ram 3500 DRW and Ram 2500 owners require different applications and should verify fitment before purchasing.
