Product Description

The EBC GD1386 is a pair of 3GD Series sport dimpled and slotted front brake rotors designed for a wide range of Audi and Volkswagen vehicles equipped with the 312mm front brake rotor, including the Audi A3, TT, TTS, Q3, and Volkswagen Golf, GTI, Golf R, Jetta, Passat, CC, Eos, Beetle, Tiguan, Arteon, Alltrack, and Taos. EBC pioneered blind-drilled dimple technology as a superior alternative to through-drilled holes -- the dimples provide effective pad degassing and heat dissipation without creating stress risers that can lead to cracking under high-temperature braking. Combined with wide-aperture angled slots that continuously sweep dirt, dust, water, and friction gases from the braking surface, the 3GD rotors run up to 200 degrees Fahrenheit cooler than non-slotted rotors in European R90 brake safety testing. The wider internal vane design promotes even airflow between rotor faces, allowing the metal to expand uniformly under heat and reducing the chance of warpage. Each rotor is cast from G3000 specification grey cast iron and finished with a black GEOMET and Nitrotherm anti-corrosion coating on non-friction surfaces for a sporty appearance and long-term protection against rust. The rotors are directional -- the sweeping slot and dimple pattern must point toward the rear of the vehicle for each side. Every rotor is individually inspected for runout and dimensional accuracy before shipping. EBC recommends pairing these rotors with their Greenstuff, Yellowstuff, or Redstuff brake pads for optimal performance and pad-to-rotor compatibility.
