The EBC DP51691NDX Bluestuff NDX is a rear brake pad set engineered for the 2003-2012 Mazda RX-8 (1.3L Rotary) in both Standard and Sports Suspension configurations. The Bluestuff NDX is EBC's intermediate-grade trackday and full race compound -- a step above Yellowstuff in friction coefficient (0.52 Mu), fade resistance, and working temperature range, while retaining excellent cold bite and progressive feel that makes it equally usable on the street and on circuit. For RX-8 owners who track their cars regularly or use aftermarket multi-piston caliper setups, the Bluestuff NDX is the compound of choice for consistent, controllable performance across extended sessions. The NDX designation refers to EBC's proprietary chemical interlayer system applied between the friction compound and the backing plate -- a harder bonding material engineered for heavy-duty race applications that triples the shear strength of the pad over standard organic bonding methods. Deep V-grooves in the pad face vent heat and capture brake dust, dirt, and debris during track use, keeping the friction surface clean across repeated hard stops. Each pad set is factory heat scorched by EBC using an infrared lamp tunnel, eliminating green fade and dramatically reducing bed-in time. Despite the race specification, synthetic aramid fiber construction keeps the compound easy on rotor surfaces and prevents scoring. Position: rear axle only.
