The Eaton 912A317 Detroit Truetrac is a premium helical-gear limited-slip differential engineered for GM's 7.5-inch / 7.6-inch 10-bolt rear axle assemblies. It delivers improved traction in both forward and reverse without any driver input, thanks to its automatic torque bias design. Ideal for drivers who want more grip under acceleration, better control under inclement conditions, or more consistent handling during towing or performance driving.

Fitment is guaranteed for 1988 through 2005 GM RWD models using the 7.5/7.6-inch 10-bolt rear, with 28-spline axle shafts and gear ratios 3.23 and up. Vehicles outside that spec - such as with different axle sizes, spline counts, or gear ratios lower than 3.23 - are not compatible. Installation generally requires differential cover removal, matching of gear ratios, proper bearing preload, and torque per factory spec. 2025 fitment is unconfirmed for this part.
