• Pin size: 0.864" - this rod is sized for the OEM K24 wrist pin diameter; if aftermarket pistons with a 0.866" wrist pin are used, the small end bushing must be honed to 0.866" before installation, or use Eagle CRS5984A3D which is pre-configured for the 0.866" pin
• Bushed for a full-floating piston pin - wrist pin is not press-fit; snap rings (not included) are required to retain the pin in the piston
• Rod bolt torque specification: 43 ft-lbs using ARP Moly Lube ONLY - do not substitute any other lubricant on ARP 2000 rod bolts

Product Description

The Eagle CRS5984K3D is a weight-matched set of four forged 4340 steel H-beam connecting rods for the Honda/Acura K24 engine family, covering K24A, K24A1, K24A2, K24A3, K24A4, K24A6, K24A8, and K24Z7 variants - the full range of 2.4L K-series engines found in the Acura TSX, Honda Accord, CR-V, and Element. These rods use the OEM K24 wrist pin diameter of 0.864" and are the appropriate choice for builds using either factory pistons or aftermarket pistons that share the OEM 0.864" pin. Builders using aftermarket pistons with the more common 0.866" (22mm) aftermarket pin size should either have the small end bushing honed to 0.866" or use Eagle CRS5984A3D, which is pre-configured for 0.866" pins.

Each rod is forged from Eagle's certified vacuum-degassed 4340 chromium-molybdenum-nickel alloy steel through a two-piece forging process that separately forges the rod body and cap, optimizing grain orientation in each section for the loads it carries. Precision cap alignment sleeves locate the cap correctly at assembly for accurate housing bore sizing and consistent bearing clearance. After forging, every rod undergoes multi-stage heat treatment, X-ray, sonic testing, magnaflux inspection, 100% machining, and shot peening. At 555g typical weight, these rods are lighter than the OEM K24 rods while providing substantially superior fatigue life and load capacity for forced induction, high-RPM, and other competition applications.

The set ships with 3/8" ARP 2000 rod bolts rated at 230,000 psi tensile strength, supporting engine builds up to 900 HP. All rod bolts must be torqued to 43 ft-lbs using ARP Moly Lube only. For builds exceeding 900 HP, Eagle's CRS5984KXD Extreme Duty set - using ARP Custom Age 625+ fasteners rated at 265,000 psi - is the appropriate upgrade.
