Product Description

The Eagle CRS6243C3D is a weight-matched set of eight forged 4340 steel H-beam connecting rods for the Chrysler Late Model Gen III HEMI V8 - specifically the 5.7L HEMI (2003 and later, both 32-tooth and 58-tooth reluctor configurations) and the 6.1L HEMI (2005-2010 SRT applications). The set of 8 is the correct quantity for a complete V8 engine build. These rods use a 0.945" (24mm) wrist pin, matching the 6.1L HEMI factory pin size and common aftermarket piston pin diameter for HEMI performance builds. Builders using 5.7L OEM pistons with the 0.927" factory pin diameter should instead select Eagle CRS6243H3D, which shares all other dimensions but is sized for the smaller pin.

Each rod is forged from Eagle's certified vacuum-degassed 4340 chromium-molybdenum-nickel alloy steel through a two-piece forging process that separately forges the rod body and cap for optimized grain orientation in each section. Precision cap alignment sleeves locate the cap correctly at assembly for accurate housing bore sizing and consistent bearing clearance across all eight positions in the HEMI V8. After forging, every rod undergoes multi-stage heat treatment, X-ray, sonic testing, magnaflux inspection, 100% machining, and shot peening. At 640g typical weight per rod, these H-beams deliver meaningfully less rotating mass than the factory HEMI connecting rods while providing substantially superior fatigue life and structural integrity for high-output, forced induction, and competition HEMI builds.

The set ships with 7/16" ARP 8740 rod bolts rated at 190,000 psi tensile strength. For builds requiring a higher fastener rating, CRS6243C3D2000 provides the same rod with ARP 2000 bolts (230,000 psi). All rod bolts must be torqued to 63 ft-lbs using ARP Moly Lube only. The small end is bushed for a full-floating 0.945" wrist pin. All eight rods in the set are weight-matched to within ±1g. Not for use in pollution-controlled vehicles.
