Product Description

The Driveshaft Shop 610261 (CHSH39-A) is a 4-inch one-piece aluminum CV driveshaft engineered for the 2015-2023 Dodge Charger equipped with the 5.7L or 6.4L HEMI and automatic transmission, covering R/T, R/T Scat Pack, SRT 392, and Scat Pack variants including Widebody models. The defining feature of this design is the direct-fit rear CV -- a precision-ground constant velocity joint that installs directly inside the pinion flange without an adapter plate, shedding the weight and compliance of the adapter hardware while improving power transfer accuracy and drivetrain response versus previous-generation DSS designs. The one-piece construction eliminates the factory two-piece shaft and its center support bearing entirely, removing a common failure point and source of driveline vibration. The 4-inch 6061-T6 aluminum tube is lighter than the OEM assembly, reducing rotational inertia for quicker throttle response and improved acceleration. Chromoly internals in the CV joints and 300M chromoly spline plugs ensure the unit holds together under sustained high-power use -- the shaft is rated for over 1,000 horsepower, making it suitable for supercharged, turbocharged, or nitrous-assisted builds. Every shaft is dynamically balanced at speeds exceeding 9,000 RPM before leaving the factory. This driveshaft is for automatic transmission applications only and does not fit manual-equipped Chargers or any Hellcat/Redeye variants. 2015+ model year applications do not require spacers. Note that exhaust clearance should be verified prior to installation, as some exhaust system configurations may require modification for adequate clearance around the larger-diameter tube.
