Product Description

The DBA DB1383XP is a rear axle Xtreme Performance brake pad set engineered specifically for the Toyota Land Cruiser 100 and 105 Series (1998-2007) and Lexus LX 470 (1998-2007) - covering all powertrain variants from the 4.7L V8 UZJ100 and 4.5L I6 FZJ100 to the 4.2L TD HDJ100 diesel, as well as the 105 Series HZJ105 and FZJ105. These are among the heaviest and most demanding production 4WD platforms in the world, and the DB1383XP is purpose-built to match that character: delivering high initial rear bite from cold, maintaining consistent friction through extended mountain descents, loaded towing situations, and repeated off-road braking demands that rapidly overheat standard OE rear pads.

The XP compound achieves a G-G class friction rating with an average mu of 0.45, remaining stable from ambient temperature all the way to 550°C (1,022°F). DBA's Thermal Stability Profiling (TSP) process pre-conditions the friction characteristics so the pad delivers strong, progressive rear braking almost immediately after installation. The factory-scorched friction surface further tightens this bedding window, eliminating the typical green fade period associated with new brake pads on large, heavy 4WDs. A centre temperature-stability slot and application-specific chamfers are machined into each pad, managing heat evacuation and minimising NVH during braking. Triple-layer European-made elastomeric shims are factory-fitted for a rattle-free, quiet installation in all conditions.

The DB1383XP is the current production replacement for the discontinued DBA DB1383, sharing the same rear pad geometry (FMSI D773: 123.2mm L x 45.2mm W). For the most capable rear braking system, DBA recommends pairing this pad with DBA T3 slotted 4000 Series or 5000 Series rear rotors; it is also compatible with T2, X, and XS rotor variants. One set of four pads covers a complete rear axle replacement. Wear sensors are not included. ECE-R90 certified.
