Fitment Notes

• FL5 install requires modifications: cutting/trimming the front bumper, fender liners, and brake ducts, plus installing rivet nuts on the crash beam rails
• DE5 install requires similar bumper, fender liner, and brake duct modifications; the included carbon fiber bumper vents are FL5-specific and require further modification of the factory bumper side inserts for proper airflow on DE5

Product Description

The CSF 8343 is CSF's first complete engine oil cooler kit, built to solve a real problem on the FL5 Civic Type R and DE5 Integra Type S: the K20C1 doesn't come with any factory oil cooler provision, and track testing regularly showed oil temps climbing past 275°F. The kit centers on two dual-pass, bar/plate coolers run in series, paired with motorsport-grade DYME quick-release fittings and a billet thermostatic sandwich plate that keeps oil flowing through the coolers only once it's actually hot.

Getting proper airflow to the coolers required CFD-designed carbon fiber bumper vents and louvered fender liner vents, since the factory bumper sides don't flow much air on their own - testing with R&D partners and Honda Racing Corporation USA showed oil temperature reductions in the 9-17°F range depending on conditions. It's a serious track-day upgrade rather than a bolt-on part, since installation involves cutting and trimming the front bumper and fender liners, so it's best suited for owners planning dedicated track use who want their FL5 or DE5 to hold up under sustained heat.
