Product Description

The COMP Cams 5761CPG is a camshaft phaser limiter kit for 2008+ Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram vehicles equipped with the Gen III HEMI VVT engine in 5.7L, 6.1L, 6.2L, and 6.4L displacements. The factory VVT cam phasers allow up to 60 degrees of crank-angle cam retard, which provides excellent fuel efficiency and broad power delivery at stock cam timing. However, this wide range of phaser movement leaves very little piston-to-valve clearance, severely limiting the cam profiles that can be safely installed without risking valve contact. This kit restricts the phaser range to just 14 degrees of crank rotation, providing the necessary valve clearance for performance camshafts with tighter lobe separations and more overlap -- while still retaining the benefits of VVT technology for variable cam timing across the RPM range.

This phaser limiter is an essential companion component when installing COMP Cams XFI, HRT, or other aftermarket performance camshafts on VVT HEMI engines. The kit includes all necessary limiter plates, a phaser tool for proper installation, and detailed instructions. Custom PCM tuning is required after installation to recalibrate the cam phaser control strategy for the reduced range of movement. For applications where full phaser lock-out is preferred (eliminating all VVT movement), COMP Cams offers the 5760CPG phaser lock kit as an alternative.
