The Cometic C5489-040 is a high-quality MLS head gasket specifically designed for GM LS-series small-block engines with a 4.100" bore. Built to deliver excellent sealing under high-performance conditions, it offers the reliability and durability required for both street and race builds.

Its stainless steel multi-layer construction, combined with a 0.040" compressed thickness, ensures a tight seal while still allowing for optimal quench. The outer layers are embossed and coated with Viton, a heat- and chemical-resistant elastomer that helps maintain sealing integrity even under extreme thermal stress.

When installed on clean, flat head and block surfaces and torqued correctly, this gasket requires no additional sealant or re-torque. It's compatible with both aluminum and iron blocks and is ideal for performance builds using LS1, LS2, LS3, LS6, and other 4.100" LS platforms.
