Product Description

The Cometic C15258-040 MLX Cylinder Head Gasket is built for right-side heads on Ford Modular V8 4.6L and 5.4L engines. This gasket features a 92 mm bore, .040-inch compressed thickness, and a four-layer stainless-steel MLX design. It includes a reinforced fire-ring around the combustion chamber for better sealing under high pressure, making it suitable for high performance or forced induction builds while maintaining close-to-stock compression.

It fits a broad range of vehicles from the early-1990s through ~2011 that use the Modular V8 architecture (Mustang, F-150, Crown Victoria, E-Series vans, Explorers, etc.). Proper installation requires clean mating surfaces, correct torque sequence, and use of the RHS gasket only for the right-hand (passenger side) head. Always verify bore size and block / head condition before selection. Fitment confirmed through model years where Modular 4.6L/5.4L remained in production; newer engine families are unconfirmed.
