Product Description

The Clutch Masters CM-037-FFL Flywheel Friction Lock is a thin friction shim that installs between the flywheel and crankshaft to protect against one of the more costly failures in high-performance Honda and Acura applications: a flywheel coming loose and fretting (welding) itself to the crank. Developed using 3M friction shim technology specifically for flywheel use, it features a nickel-coated steel substrate with embedded diamond particles that bite into both surfaces for dramatically increased grip.

At an installed thickness of just 0.006"-0.009", it doesn't meaningfully change assembly spacing, making it a simple add-on during clutch or flywheel service. Rated to handle up to 5x the shear force and torque of a conventional setup, it's a relatively low-cost form of insurance for anyone running a tuned or track-driven engine where a loose flywheel could mean a destroyed crankshaft.
