Product Description

The Carrillo BLT-CARR6-PS is the Pro Series replacement for the standard 3/8" CARR connecting rod bolt, developed by CP-Carrillo to meet the increasing load demands of modern high-performance and racing engines. As power levels have continued to climb across all forms of motorsport, CP-Carrillo engineered the Pro Series fastener with a thicker shank and higher clamp load to provide greater reliability at the critical big-end connection where the rod meets the crankshaft journal. This bolt is a direct upgrade for any Carrillo connecting rod that originally shipped with the standard 3/8" CARR fastener (BLT-CARR6), and has been used extensively in professional drag racing, road course, and endurance racing applications.

The Pro Series bolt requires slightly more stretch than the standard CARR fastener. When installing in a new rod or after resizing the big end, CP-Carrillo recommends a stretch of 0.0065"-0.0075" for optimal performance. When replacing an existing standard 3/8" CARR bolt without resizing, stretch should be set to 0.0060"-0.0065" and may go as high as 0.0070", but values must not fall below 0.0060". As a multiphase steel fastener, the Pro Series bolt is rated for indefinite torque cycles when the stretch method is followed with recommended lube - a significant advantage over H11 tool steel (WMC) bolts, which are limited to approximately 15-18 torque cycles.
