Product Description

The Borla 40351 is a ProXS series universal performance muffler featuring a 2.25" offset inlet and 2.25" offset outlet in a compact 4" x 9.5" oval body. The ProXS line delivers an aggressive, deep exhaust tone at a value price point while sharing the same core technology found in Borla's premium performance mufflers. The patented straight-through multi-core design uses a stainless steel perforated tube wrapped in multiple layers of stainless steel sound-absorbing material and a ceramic high-temperature inner layer, all housed in a fully welded T-304 austenitic stainless steel shell. This design reduces backpressure and increases exhaust gas velocity, ensuring each cylinder is fully evacuated for improved power, throttle response, and fuel efficiency.

The reversible design allows the muffler to be installed in either direction for maximum flexibility in custom exhaust fabrication. Un-notched necks are intended for weld-in installation; if clamping is preferred, use Borla 18003 three-inch wide band clamps or choose the notched-neck version (Borla 400489) with Borla 18322 one-inch band clamps. T-304 austenitic stainless steel contains high levels of nickel and chromium for superior corrosion resistance over 400-series stainless or aluminized steel, ensuring the muffler will never rust. All welding must be performed at the inlet/outlet nipples only -- welding to the shell or end caps will void the warranty.
