Fitment Notes

• These are over-axle intermediate mid-pipes (the sections that route from the mid-pipe/X-pipe connection, up and over the rear axle, to the axle-back mufflers). They are NOT an X-pipe - the X-pipe cross-member section is a separate component. For a complete cat-back system, pair with a Borla X-pipe (part #60513) and a Borla axle-back system.
• Compatible with the factory OEM axle-back system, Borla axle-back exhaust systems, and most aftermarket axle-back systems - the factory-style ball-socket flanges at the rear connection are interchangeable with OEM and most aftermarket rear section connections.
• These pipes directly replace the factory over-axle intermediate pipes, which contain built-in inline resonators and tube-pinching over the axle housing. The Borla pipes eliminate both the resonators and the tube restrictions entirely.
• Heat shields for the fuel lines are included and should be reinstalled during installation to protect the fuel lines from exhaust heat.
• Sold as a pair (left and right over-axle pipe sections).

The Borla 60521 Over-Axle Mid-Pipes are the intermediate connecting sections of the exhaust system for the 2011-2014 Ford Mustang GT, Shelby GT500, and Boss 302 - the pipes that route from the X-pipe or mid-pipe connection point, arch up and over the rear axle housing, and connect to the axle-back muffler system. From the factory, these sections contain two significant performance restrictions: inline resonators that suppress the exhaust note, and tube pinches at the over-axle arch that reduce internal diameter. The Borla 60521 eliminates both entirely, routing the exhaust through 2.75" T-304 stainless steel tubing that maintains its full bore from end to end through every CNC mandrel-bent curve, delivering a noticeably stronger exhaust tone and reduced backpressure compared to the factory pipes.

These pipes are designed to slot into the existing exhaust system using factory-style ball-socket flanges at both the mid-pipe inlet and the axle-back outlet - allowing them to be used with the factory OEM axle-back, a Borla axle-back system (paired with Borla X-pipe #60513 for a complete cat-back), or most aftermarket axle-back systems that use compatible ball-socket flanges.
