Fitment Notes

• Designed for BorgWarner EFR B1 and B2 frame turbochargers with 62mm-76mm compressor wheels and 0.83 or 0.94 A/R turbine housings - does NOT fit EFR turbos with 83mm or 91mm compressor wheels (use 179429 for those)
• For EFR 62mm and 67mm CW turbos with 0.64 A/R turbine housing, use BorgWarner bracket kit 179427 instead
• For EFR 83mm and 91mm CW turbos (EFR 8374, 9180, etc.), use BorgWarner bracket kit 179429 instead
• Required when purchasing an EFR Super Core with an internal wastegate (IWG) turbine housing - IWG housings do not include actuator brackets
• Compatible with standard and super short wastegate canisters (low, medium, and high boost variants)

The BorgWarner 179428 is the genuine OEM wastegate canister actuator bracket kit for EFR turbochargers equipped with 62mm-76mm compressor wheels and 0.83 or 0.94 A/R turbine housings - specifically the EFR 7163, EFR 7670, and EFR 8370. This bracket kit is required when a wastegate canister is being installed on an EFR Super Core or any separately purchased IWG turbine housing, as these do not include actuator mounting hardware.

Unlike most turbocharger designs, the EFR bracket mounts directly to the bearing housing backing plate rather than the compressor housing, which allows the turbo clocking position to be changed without repositioning the wastegate bracket. The complete stainless steel hardware kit supports standard and super short canister types across all three boost spring configurations (low, medium, high) as specified in BorgWarner's official Wastegate Selection Guide. For EFR turbos with 83mm or 91mm compressor wheels, use bracket kit 179429 instead.
