Vehicle Fitment

  • 1967-1969 Chevrolet Camaro - All Trims (1st Gen F-Body, hardtop and convertible)
  • 1967-1969 Pontiac Firebird - All Trims (1st Gen F-Body, hardtop and convertible)
  • 1968-1974 Chevrolet Nova / Chevy II - All Trims (X-Body)
  • 1971-1974 Pontiac Ventura (X-Body)

Fitment Notes

  • Fits both hardtop and convertible F-Body models - no separate convertible-specific version required
  • 100% bolt-in installation - no welding is required; optionally, the connectors can be welded to the chassis after installation for a further increase in rigidity
  • May require rerouting of factory brake and/or fuel lines depending on specific vehicle configuration - inspect routing before installation
  • Compact, perimeter-tucked design fits inside the rocker channel - no ground clearance reduction for stock or lowered vehicles, and no floor pan modification required
  • Square-tube design provides a safe and stable jacking point, eliminating risk of damage to pinch welds, floor pan, or subframe when lifting the vehicle
  • Also available in Red powdercoat - see BMR SFC005R
  • Made in the USA

Features

  • Manufactured from heavy-duty 2-inch square steel tubing - far superior in torsional and bending rigidity to the round-tube designs used by other manufacturers
  • Laser-cut, CNC-formed 3/16-inch steel plate construction adds precisely located strength at key structural points across the floorpan
  • Two attachment points per side provide superior chassis stiffening compared to single-point designs
  • Connects the front subframe to the structural area of the rear subframe - addressing the root cause of chassis flex in the 1st Gen F-Body and X-Body platforms
  • Includes an exclusive BMR Delrin body mount bushing for a solid, rattle-free connection at the body mount attachment point
  • Bolt-in design retains the ability to remove the front subframe after installation - no permanent modification to the chassis
  • Dramatically increases chassis stiffness - reduces body flex, improves handling consistency, and eliminates squeaks and rattles common in these platforms
  • Fully MIG-welded construction for maximum joint strength and long-term durability
  • Black Hammertone powder-coated finish for corrosion resistance and clean underbody appearance
  • Designed for street performance, drag racing, and road racing applications

Product Description

The BMR SFC005H is a bolt-on square-tube subframe connector kit engineered for the 1967-1969 Chevrolet Camaro and Pontiac Firebird (1st Gen F-Body) and the 1968-1974 Chevrolet Nova/Chevy II and 1971-1974 Pontiac Ventura (X-Body). The perimeter-rail chassis architecture used on these classic GM platforms is inherently flexible - the front and rear subframes are connected primarily through the body structure, and without additional reinforcement, the chassis twists measurably under load. This flex degrades handling precision, causes alignment changes mid-corner, contributes to door and body panel fitment issues, and creates the structural squeaks and rattles these cars are notorious for as they age. The SFC005H directly addresses this by tying the front subframe to the structural area of the rear subframe with a rigid, high-strength connector running along the rocker channel.

BMR's design uses 2-inch square steel tubing and laser-cut, CNC-formed 3/16-inch steel plate - a construction that is dimensionally stiffer in both torsion and bending than the round-tube alternatives commonly available for these platforms. The perimeter-tucked routing positions the connectors inside the rocker channel, keeping them compact and clear of ground obstacles even on lowered vehicles, and eliminating any interference with the seat mounts, spring pockets, or floor pan. The square-tube profile also functions as a safe jacking point along the rocker, protecting the pinch welds and subframe from damage during lifting. Two attachment points per side provide superior chassis stiffening versus single-point designs. An exclusive BMR Delrin body mount bushing is included for the body mount connection point, providing a solid, rattle-free interface that maintains the ability to remove the front subframe after installation.

Installation is 100% bolt-in and requires no welding, cutting, or floor pan modification - all needed brackets and Grade 8 hardware are included in the kit. Factory brake and fuel line routing should be inspected before installation, as rerouting may be required depending on vehicle configuration. For builders who want the maximum possible rigidity, the connectors can optionally be welded to the chassis after installation to further increase stiffness. The SFC005H fits all hardtop and convertible models of the 1st Gen F-Body and is available in Black Hammertone (SFC005H) and Red (SFC005R). All BMR subframe connectors are made in the USA.
