Vehicle Fitment

  • 2016-2024 Chevrolet Camaro 6th Gen (All Trims: LS, LT, RS, SS, ZL1, Z/28 - All engines: 2.0L Turbo I4, 3.6L V6, 6.2L V8 - RWD)

Fitment Notes

  • Fits 2016 and newer 6th-gen Chevrolet Camaro only - does not fit 5th-gen Camaro (2010-2015); the independent rear suspension architecture changed significantly between generations and these bearings are not interchangeable
  • Replaces the factory rear upper control arm outer bushings specifically - the outer pivot mount at the spindle/knuckle end of the upper control arm; not to be confused with the upper trailing arm outer bushings (BK065), lower trailing arm outer bushings (BK066), or lower control arm inner bushings (BK067)
  • For comprehensive rear spherical bearing coverage across all four rear suspension link positions, pair with: BK065 (rear upper trailing arm outer), BK066 (rear lower trailing arm outer), and BK067 (rear lower control arm inner)
  • Position: Rear upper control arm, outer (both left and right sides - full kit for both corners)
  • The cup and bearing assembly presses into the rear spindle - a hydraulic press is required for installation; professional installation is recommended
  • Estimated installation time: 2-3 hours
  • A rear wheel alignment is recommended after installation

Features

  • Heavy-duty 3/4-inch spherical bearings replace the factory air-pocket rubber bushings at the rear upper control arm outer mount - eliminating the bushing compliance that allows excessive upper control arm movement under hard acceleration, braking, and cornering
  • Machined bearing cups provide a precision press-fit interface between the spherical bearing and the rear spindle - delivering a secure, repeatable mounting that resists the high lateral and longitudinal loads generated during performance driving
  • CNC-machined billet aluminum spacers complete the assembly, ensuring correct bearing positioning, load distribution, and precise fitment within the spindle housing
  • Virtually eliminates upper control arm outer bushing movement by solidly linking the upper control arm to the rear spindle at the outer pivot - removing one of the key compliance paths through which rear suspension geometry shifts under load
  • Reduces rear spindle rotation and minimizes dynamic alignment changes during hard launches, aggressive acceleration, and high-load cornering by stabilizing the upper control arm's outer attachment point
  • Increases traction and launch consistency by preventing power-absorbing bushing deflection from shifting rear spindle geometry under acceleration
  • Increases throttle response by making rear suspension behavior more stable and predictable under power application
  • Improves handling stability and cornering feel by reducing unwanted upper control arm movement under lateral loads
  • Black anodized finish provides durable corrosion resistance suited to the heat, moisture, and debris environment of the rear suspension
  • Designed for street performance, drag racing, and road racing/handling applications
  • Proudly designed and manufactured in the USA by BMR Suspension

Product Description

The BMR Suspension BK069 is a rear upper control arm outer spherical bearing kit engineered for the 2016-2024 Chevrolet Camaro 6th Gen to address bushing deflection at the outer pivot of the rear upper control arm - the mount located at the rear spindle/knuckle end of the arm. Like every other rubber bushing location in the 6th-gen Camaro's independent rear suspension, the factory upper control arm outer bushings are molded with internal air pockets that prioritize ride comfort and NVH absorption over performance load transfer. Under the forces generated by hard launches, high-power acceleration, and aggressive cornering, these air-pocketed rubber bushings flex and distort, allowing the upper control arm to move at its outer pivot and shifting the rear spindle's dynamic geometry in real time. The result is the same characteristic set of symptoms seen across all factory bushing locations on this platform: wheelhop, inconsistent traction, unpredictable throttle response, and degraded handling consistency under high-load conditions.

The BK069 resolves this by replacing the factory outer bushing with a heavy-duty 3/4-inch spherical bearing pressed into a machined bearing cup, with CNC-machined billet aluminum spacers completing the assembly. The spherical bearing allows the upper control arm to articulate freely through its intended arc while completely eliminating the lateral and longitudinal compliance of the OEM rubber, solidly linking the arm to the spindle at the outer end and removing this compliance path entirely. The result is reduced wheelhop, more consistent traction and launch behavior, improved throttle response under power, and sharper handling stability through cornering. The BK069 is finished in black anodized aluminum, designed and built in the USA by BMR Suspension, and backed by their 2-year limited warranty. A hydraulic press is required for cup installation; professional installation is recommended. For complete rear spherical bearing coverage, the BK069 pairs with BK065, BK066, and BK067 to address all four rear suspension link positions on the 6th-gen Camaro.
