Vehicle Fitment

  • 2016-2024 Chevrolet Camaro 6th Gen (All Trims: LS, LT, RS, SS, ZL1, Z/28 - All engines - RWD)

Fitment Notes

  • Fits 2016 and newer 6th-gen Chevrolet Camaro only - does not fit 5th-gen Camaro (2010-2015); the rear suspension architecture changed significantly between generations and these bearings are not interchangeable
  • Replaces the factory lower trailing arm outer bushings specifically - for full rear spherical bearing coverage, see complementary BMR kits: BK065 (rear upper trailing arm outer), BK067 (rear lower control arm inner), and BK069 (rear upper control arm outer)
  • Position: Rear lower trailing arm, outer (both left and right sides - full kit for both corners)
  • The cup and bearing assembly presses into the rear spindle - a press is required for installation; professional installation is recommended
  • Estimated installation time: 2-3 hours
  • A rear wheel alignment is recommended after installation

Features

  • Heavy-duty 3/4-inch spherical bearings replace the factory air-pocket rubber bushings - eliminating the deflection that causes lower trailing arm movement, wheelhop, and inconsistent traction under high-load acceleration
  • Machined bearing cups provide a precise, press-fit interface between the spherical bearing and the rear spindle - delivering a secure, repeatable mounting without relying on adhesive or clamping force alone
  • CNC-machined billet aluminum spacers complete the assembly, ensuring correct bearing positioning and load distribution within the spindle housing
  • Virtually eliminates lower trailing arm bushing movement by solidly linking the trailing arm to the rear spindle - the most direct solution to bushing-induced wheelhop on the 6th-gen platform
  • Reduces rear spindle rotation during aggressive acceleration and braking by removing the compliance path through the OEM rubber bushing
  • Increases traction and launch consistency by removing the power-absorbing deflection of the stock rubber bushings - transferring torque directly to the tires instead of into bushing flex
  • Increases throttle response by making the rear suspension geometry more stable and predictable under power application
  • Improves handling stability and cornering feel by reducing unwanted rear trailing arm movement under lateral loads
  • Black anodized finish provides durable corrosion resistance suited to the heat, moisture, and debris environment of the rear suspension
  • Designed for street performance, drag racing, and road racing/handling applications
  • Proudly designed and manufactured in the USA by BMR Suspension

Product Description

The BMR Suspension BK066 is a rear lower trailing arm outer spherical bearing kit engineered specifically for the 2016-2024 Chevrolet Camaro 6th Gen to directly address one of the most common performance limiters on the platform: factory rubber bushing deflection at the rear lower trailing arm outer mount. The OEM bushings are molded with internal air pockets from soft rubber - a design that prioritizes ride comfort and NVH absorption, but allows significant lower trailing arm movement under the high loads generated during hard launches, aggressive throttle inputs, and track driving. This deflection allows the rear spindle to rotate excessively, which absorbs power, creates inconsistent traction, and contributes to the wheelhop behavior that is a well-documented characteristic of the 6th-gen Camaro under hard acceleration.

The BK066 eliminates this deflection by replacing the factory rubber bushing with a heavy-duty 3/4-inch spherical bearing pressed into a machined bearing cup, with CNC-machined billet aluminum spacers completing the assembly within the rear spindle housing. The spherical bearing allows the trailing arm to articulate freely through its intended range of motion while completely eliminating the lateral and rotational compliance of the OEM rubber - nearly solidly linking the trailing arm to the spindle and removing the compliance path through which power is lost and alignment geometry shifts under load. The result is dramatically reduced wheelhop, improved traction consistency, more predictable throttle response under power, and sharper handling feel in cornering. The kit is finished in black anodized aluminum for durability, designed and manufactured in the USA by BMR Suspension, and is backed by their 2-year limited warranty. Installation requires pressing the bearing cup into the spindle; professional installation is recommended.
