The BLOX Racing BXPT-10201 is a CNC-machined billet AL6061 block guard engineered for 1992-2000 Honda Civic and Del Sol models running the D16Z6 or D16Y8 SOHC VTEC engine. Honda's open-deck cylinder design allows coolant to surround the cylinder walls, but under forced induction, the unsupported walls are vulnerable to flex, expansion, and cracking. This block guard drops directly into the short block and reinforces the upper cylinder walls while retaining precisely placed coolant passages to maintain full flow to the head - eliminating the thermal management issues that arise when coolant is fully blocked off.
