The Bilstein 19-242927 is a B4 OE Replacement rear shock absorber designed as a direct fitment for the 2013-2014 Ford Escape (2nd generation, C520 platform) in both FWD and AWD configurations. It is a twin-tube gas pressure unit engineered to restore the Escape's factory ride quality and handling - meeting or exceeding OEM standards as a direct rear damper replacement for early 2nd-generation Escape models produced through approximately December 2014.

Important production date distinction: Ford revised the Escape's rear suspension specifications in early 2015, and the correct Bilstein B4 rear shock for 2015-2019 Ford Escape is Bilstein 19-298962 - a different part number covering the updated suspension design. The 19-242927 covers the original 2013-2014 (pre-January 2015 production) specification only. The companion Bilstein B4 front struts for the same production window are 22-242907 (driver left) and 22-242914 (passenger right).
