Product Description

The Bilstein 24-013161 is a B4 OE Replacement rear shock absorber engineered specifically for the Mercedes-Benz SL-Class R129 platform, covering the 300SL, 500SL, 600SL, SL320, and SL500 from 1990 through 2002. Using Bilstein's monotube gas-pressure technology, this shock restores the precise, composed rear damping the R129 was factory-tuned to deliver - eliminating the float, instability, and reduced road contact that come with worn or leaking OEM units.

This is a direct replacement for Mercedes-Benz OEM part number A1293200031 and fits both driver and passenger side rear positions. Two units are required for a complete rear shock replacement. This part is exclusively for R129 models without the Adaptive Damping System (ADS) - vehicles equipped with self-leveling or electronically controlled rear suspension require a different part. Final torque tightening should be performed with the suspension in the loaded (on-ground) position.
