The Bilstein 25-311341 is a B8 5160 rear shock absorber engineered for the 2005-2021 Nissan Frontier and 2009-2012 Suzuki Equator, fitting both 2WD and 4WD configurations with up to 1" of rear lift. As the updated replacement for legacy part 25-266795, it brings race-derived remote reservoir technology to a straightforward, direct-fit bolt-on package. The 46mm monotube design keeps gas and oil completely separated at all times, eliminating the foaming and fade that plague conventional twin-tube shocks during hard use. The remote reservoir takes this a step further by substantially increasing oil volume and heat dissipation capacity, allowing sustained full-performance damping on extended off-road runs - exactly the kind of use that causes standard shocks to overheat and lose effectiveness. A floating dividing piston in the reservoir provides increased wheel travel and shaft movement beyond what a traditional monotube can offer, translating directly to better articulation and trail composure.
