Product Description

The Bilstein 24-185417 is a B8 5100 series rear shock absorber engineered for the 1997-2003 Ford F-150 and 2004 F-150 Heritage with light duty (5-lug) suspension, designed for vehicles running 0-2" of rear lift. Its extended travel and 46mm monotube gas-pressure design - with Bilstein's patented digressive valving - deliver consistent, fade-free rear damping specifically calibrated for the altered geometry of a modestly lifted F-150, whether on daily drives, towing, or off-road terrain.

This shock is for the 5-lug light duty F-150 only - the heavy duty 8-lug variants use a different part number. It is sold as a single unit - two are required for a complete rear shock replacement. For F-150 owners running stock height, the B6 4600 rear shock (24-185141) is the more appropriate alternative. For rear lift greater than 2", a longer-travel B8 5100 application-specific part number is required.
