Fitment Notes

• Designed specifically for vehicles equipped with the OE Nivomat (ZW7 Premium Smooth Ride) self-leveling rear suspension only. Not compatible with standard coil spring suspensions.
• Does NOT fit vehicles with the Z55 Autoride electronic air suspension system - that system uses an air compressor and is a different architecture entirely.
• Fits both 2WD and 4WD configurations.
• Position: Rear axle. Converts the rear suspension from Nivomat self-leveling to a conventional coil spring and monotube shock setup at factory ride height.
• Does not fit Chevrolet Suburban 2500, Avalanche 2500, or GMC Yukon XL 2500 (heavy-duty platforms).

The Bilstein 46-274922 is a B6 4600 rear shock absorber conversion kit engineered specifically to eliminate the OE Nivomat (ZW7 Premium Smooth Ride) self-leveling rear suspension found on the 2000-2006 Chevrolet Suburban 1500, Avalanche 1500, GMC Yukon XL 1500, Cadillac Escalade ESV, and Escalade EXT. When the Nivomat damper is removed without a spring replacement, rear spring rate drops significantly and ride height collapses. This kit solves that problem by pairing two B6 4600 monotube gas-pressure shocks with two matched coil springs that restore the vehicle to factory ride height - delivering a more reliable, performance-oriented rear suspension without any modification to the vehicle.

The B6 4600 shocks feature velocity-sensitive digressive piston valving that instantly adapts to road surface changes, providing improved ride quality, better body control under load, and consistent damping across highway and off-road conditions. This kit is the correct solution for the Nivomat ZW7 system only and will not work with the Z55 Autoride electronic air suspension, which requires a separate conversion process.
