The BD Diesel 1062025 is the Stage 4 Master Build-It Transmission Kit for the 68RFE automatic transmission, engineered for 2007.5-2018 Dodge and Ram 2500/3500 trucks equipped with the 6.7L Cummins turbocharged diesel engine. As BD Diesel's highest-level Build-It offering, the Stage 4 kit contains essentially every performance and durability component that BD installs in their own complete factory-built transmissions - making it the definitive rebuild solution for experienced builders working on high-performance applications, heavily towed trucks, or any 68RFE that has already experienced one or more internal failure events. The kit is designed to address all of the 68RFE's documented factory weaknesses in a single purchase: weak clutch pack capacity, inadequate mainline pressure, accumulator blowout, deflecting pressure plates, and the catastrophic failure of the stock low reverse sprag.

At the core of the Stage 4 upgrade is the ProTect68 Pressure Control Module, which is included in this kit and delivers up to 250 PSI of clutch apply pressure at full throttle - far above the factory hydraulic system's capability. The ProTect68 dynamically adjusts apply pressures based on turbo boost and engine load signals, ensuring the transmission is always applying maximum clamping force when and where the drivetrain demands it. The custom bonded gasket valve body separator plate works alongside the ProTect68 by sealing the internal cross-leaks in the valve body that bleed off pressure on stock transmissions, ensuring the elevated pressures generated by the ProTect68 actually reach the clutch packs. Clutch capacity itself is dramatically increased across the board: Over Drive clutches grow by 17%, Under Drive clutches by 20%, and 2C clutches by 33%, using premium Raybestos friction material throughout. BD's proprietary QT100 alloy pressure plates replace the factory stamped steel units to reduce deflection and distortion under torque load - keeping the clutch drum geometry consistent for more even wear and longer clutch life.

This kit also incorporates the same heavy-duty cam and roller one-way clutch upgrade found in BD's standalone 1060603 part, replacing the factory dog-bone sprag that is the single most common catastrophic failure component in the stock 68RFE.
