Vehicle Fitment

  • 2009-2026 Ram 1500 (5.7L HEMI, DS Classic & DT Body Styles, All Trims)
  • 2009-2018 Ram 2500 / 3500 (5.7L HEMI, All Trims)
  • 2009-2025 Ram 4500 / 5500 (5.7L HEMI)
  • 2011-2026 Dodge Durango (5.7L HEMI, All Trims)
  • 2011-2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee (5.7L HEMI, All Trims)
  • 2021-2024 Jeep Grand Wagoneer / Wagoneer (5.7L HEMI)

Fitment Notes

  • Hardware-only kit - does not include exhaust manifolds; compatible with OEM factory manifolds and all BD Diesel aftermarket manifolds
  • Fits both DS (Classic) and DT body-style Ram 1500 trucks through 2026
  • For 2019+ Ram 1500 buyers: confirm body style using VIN digit 6 - digit E or F = DT (new body), digit 6 or 7 = DS Classic body; both are compatible with this bolt kit
  • Ram 2500 / 3500 5.7L HEMI applications end at 2018 - 2019+ Ram HD uses the 6.4L HEMI or Cummins diesel
  • Manifold bolt torque: 25 N·m (18 ft-lb) | Heat shield bolt torque: 10 N·m (89 in-lb)
  • Legal for sale and use in all 50 states

Features

  • Extended Class 8.8 steel bolts with calibrated spacers keep fasteners operating within their elastic limit, preventing fracture and permanent yield from heat cycling
  • Black Oxide coating on all hardware provides corrosion resistance in high-heat exhaust environments
  • Custom heat shield brackets decouple OEM heat shield installation from manifold mounting bolts - reducing stress concentration and preventing heat shield-induced bolt failures
  • Addresses the root cause of the well-known 5.7L HEMI broken exhaust manifold bolt failure mode - no drilling or extraction required during install
  • Compatible with OEM factory manifolds and BD Diesel aftermarket manifolds
  • Broad fitment covering Ram trucks, Durango SUV, and Jeep Grand Cherokee / Wagoneer from 2009 through 2026

Product Description

The BD Diesel 1041660 is a precision hardware upgrade kit designed to permanently address the notorious broken exhaust manifold bolt problem on 5.7L HEMI engines found in Ram trucks, Dodge Durango, Jeep Grand Cherokee, and Wagoneer vehicles from 2009 through 2026. The factory exhaust manifold bolts on these engines are well-documented to crack, shear, and pull out due to the extreme thermal cycling they experience - particularly in applications that see regular towing or performance driving. BD's solution is straightforward but engineered: longer Class 8.8 bolts paired with precision spacers ensure the fastener always operates within its elastic zone, never reaching the yield point that causes permanent deformation or fracture.

The kit also includes custom heat shield mounting brackets that allow the OEM heat shield to be fastened independently of the manifold bolts. On the stock setup, the heat shield shares the same fastening points as the manifold, adding bending stress to bolts that are already under thermal load - a design flaw BD addresses directly with this kit. All hardware features a Black Oxide finish for corrosion resistance. The kit is compatible with both OEM manifolds and BD's own aftermarket manifold kits, making it an excellent complement to a full manifold replacement or a standalone repair when the manifolds themselves are still serviceable.
