  • 2007.5-2024 Ram 2500 (6.7L Cummins Diesel) - with Banks Monster-Ram installed
  • 2007.5-2024 Ram 3500 (6.7L Cummins Diesel) - with Banks Monster-Ram installed
  • Compatible with all Banks Monster-Ram 6.7L Cummins variants (pickup and chassis-cab), including 42799, 42799-B, 42799-PC, 42800, 42800-N, 42804-N, 42804-R, 42805-N, 42805-R, 42806-N, 42806-R, and related systems

Fitment Notes

  • Add-on accessory only - requires an existing Banks Monster-Ram intake system; does not install into the factory intake manifold or any non-Banks intake
  • Important: The included MAP (TMAP) Relocation Kit is designed for use with a Banks Monster-Ram equipped with a billet heater kit - it will NOT fit stock factory intake horns
  • The 42809 adds a single 750-watt billet coil heater, bringing the total heat output to 1,500W (single-heat Monster-Ram) or 2,250W (dual-heat capable Monster-Ram with existing 42830 upgrade)
  • On a Dual Heat Capable Monster-Ram already running the 42830 upgrade (1,500W total), adding the 42809 brings the system to 2,250W total
  • For owners wanting to add 1,500W in a single kit, see Banks 42807 (dual 750-watt coil billet heater kit)
  • For owners upgrading from single-heat to dual-heat using only a coil heater (no billet body or TMAP relocation), see Banks 42830
  • The kit can be removed in minutes during non-winter months

Features

  • Adds 750 watts of supplemental billet coil heater capacity to any Banks Monster-Ram 6.7L Cummins system - ideal step-up for cold-climate operators who need more than the stock 750W Monster-Ram heater provides
  • Billet aluminum heater body - premium machined construction for a cleaner, more durable installation; pairs with a Banks coil heater element inside the billet housing
  • Includes TMAP (Temperature/Manifold Absolute Pressure) Relocation Kit - relocates the TMAP sensor out of the way to accommodate the billet heater body installation
  • Coil heater mounts vertically inside the Monster-Ram without obstructing airflow - maintains the Monster-Ram's unrestricted intake path
  • Designed to fail safely - unlike the factory Cummins grid heater, Banks coil heaters are engineered so that any failure does not drop hardware into the intake manifold and engine
  • Simple bolt-on installation - connects with supplied cable; no cutting, splicing, or permanent modifications required
  • Removable for non-winter months with minimal effort
  • Designed around RAM's cold-start block heater recommendations per the owner's manual

Product Description

The Banks Power 42809 is a 750-watt supplemental billet coil heater kit for Banks Monster-Ram intake systems on 2007.5-2024 Ram 2500/3500 6.7L Cummins diesel trucks. Where the Banks 42830 Dual Heater Upgrade Kit adds a second standard coil heater in a straightforward fashion, the 42809 steps up to a billet aluminum heater body housing the coil element - a more robust construction with a cleaner finished appearance. It also includes a TMAP sensor relocation kit required to accommodate the billet heater body's larger footprint inside the Monster-Ram casting.

Installing the 42809 on a single-heat Monster-Ram brings total coil heat output to 1,500 watts. On a dual-heat capable Monster-Ram already running the 42830 upgrade, adding the 42809 brings the system to 2,250 watts total - the same level of heating that Banks' cold-start testing demonstrated could reliably cold-start a Cummins at -30°F/-34°C without block heat. Banks cold-start testing showed 1,500W total with block heat enables starts to -30°F/-34°C, and 2,250W without block heat reaches the same threshold.

Unlike the factory Cummins grid heater - which can shed hardware into the intake manifold and cause catastrophic cylinder damage - Banks coil heaters are engineered to fail safely with no risk of engine damage. The kit installs with hand tools, connects via a supplied cable, and can be removed in minutes during warmer months when supplemental heating is not needed. A Banks Monster-Ram intake system is required - this kit does not fit the stock factory intake manifold.
