• Does NOT fit 2025 Duramax - GM added a PCV sensor for the 2025 model year that conflicts with this system; a new kit incorporating a Banks PCV Control Module is forthcoming for 2025 applications
• This is the dry filter version (42285-D) - the oiled filter version is Banks 42285; both include identical system components and carry the same price
• Do NOT oil the dry filter - the dry filter element requires no filter oil at any time; cleaning is done with low-pressure air or water only

Product Description

The Banks Power 42285-D is the dry filter version of the Ram-Air cold air intake system for the 2024 Chevrolet and GMC 2500HD/3500HD equipped with the 6.6L Duramax L5P diesel. It is identical in every respect to the Banks 42285 (oiled filter version) except for the included filter element - the 42285-D ships with a dry synthetic filter that requires no oil at any service interval. Owners who prefer a simpler, oil-free maintenance routine should choose the 42285-D; those comfortable with oiled filter maintenance can choose the 42285.

Like the oiled version, the 42285-D features Banks' patented Air Mass Control Module - the only solution that allows a 2024 L5P Duramax intake to increase air mass flow beyond stock limits without triggering a check engine light. The result is a 58% mass air flow gain and 45% reduction in intake pressure loss over the factory airbox, improving turbo response, fuel economy, and engine power across the operating range. The enclosed XLPE cold-air housing, massive dome-shaped filter, Banks SuperTube, and EPDM bellows coupler are identical across both variants.

Important: Do not apply filter oil to the 42285-D dry filter at any time - doing so will damage the dry filter media. Use Banks 41829-D as the replacement filter element. This kit does not fit 2025 Duramax trucks - verify your model year before ordering.
