Product Description

The Banks 42799-PC is the Gen-2 Dual Heat Capable Monster-Ram intake elbow with Killer Grid Heater upgrade for the 2019-2024 Ram 2500 and 3500 with the 6.7L Cummins diesel. The stock intake elbow is a squashed, angular casting that chokes airflow at 38.6 lbs/min MAF -- the Monster-Ram replaces it with a CFD-optimized cast aluminum elbow that flows 72.7 lbs/min, an 88% improvement, raising boost without increasing turbine backpressure. Banks redesigned the No. 1 fuel line to allow a fully unobstructed elbow opening -- something competing intakes can't match because they work around the stock fuel line instead of replacing it.

The factory grid heater is a documented failure point: over time, heat and vibration loosen the heater grid bolt, which falls into the intake manifold, rolls downhill along the engine's 5° rake into cylinder #6, and causes catastrophic valve, piston, and head damage requiring a full engine rebuild. The Monster-Ram eliminates this risk entirely by replacing the factory heater with a Banks high-flow cast intake plate and a 750W vertical coil heater that provides the same cold-start functionality without the failure mode. The coil heater outperforms the stock 670W unit, and the Monster-Ram is upgradeable to 1,500 watts with separately available dual or billet heater kits.
