Product Description

The Banks Power 42804-N is the natural-finish Monster-Ram intake and killer grid heater upgrade kit for 2013-2018 Ram 3500, 4500, and 5500 Cab & Chassis trucks equipped with the 6.7L Cummins diesel. This chassis-cab-specific version addresses a platform-specific routing difference that prevents the standard Ram pickup Monster-Ram (42800-N) from fitting these applications.

The Monster-Ram replaces two of the biggest airflow and reliability problems on the 6.7L Cummins: the restrictive factory intake elbow and the failure-prone stock grid heater. The stock intake elbow is cramped, angular, and physically limited in diameter by the routing of the No. 1 fuel line - Banks engineers redesigned that fuel line entirely to allow a wide, straight-shot inlet path for the Monster-Ram casting. With a 3-3/8" inlet and CFD-optimized flow path, the Monster-Ram delivers 72.7 lbs/min MAF compared to the stock system's 38.6 lbs/min - an 88.3% improvement that more than doubles the nearest competing intake upgrade.

The factory Cummins grid heater is a well-documented engine killer: heat, vibration, and time cause the heater's stud and nut to loosen and fall into the intake manifold, where the engine's 5° rake carries the hardware directly into cylinder #6 - destroying valves, pistons, and the head. Banks eliminates this failure point entirely, replacing the grid heater plate with a Banks high-flow billet intake plate and substituting a 750-watt vertical coil heater that maintains cold-start functionality without any obstruction to airflow. The system is also dual-heat capable, accepting an optional second 750W Banks 42830 coil heater upgrade for cold-climate operations requiring maximum grid heater output.
