Product Description

The Banks 42180-D Ram-Air Cold Air Intake is a fully enclosed, CARB-compliant performance intake system built specifically for the 2010-2012 Dodge/Ram 2500 and 3500 equipped with the 6.7L Cummins 24-valve diesel engine. Developed through CAD flow simulation, flowbench validation, and real-world air density testing against the stock intake and all major competitors, this system flows up to 50% more than the factory intake while delivering higher air density at the turbocharger inlet - translating to more power, improved fuel economy, and reduced EGTs and black smoke under heavy towing and load conditions.

The fully enclosed XLPE housing routes cool outside air through a large dome-shaped dry filter directly to the turbo compressor inlet, completely isolating the intake charge from hot engine bay air. Banks' exclusive 4.5-inch bellows coupling absorbs engine movement to protect all rigid intake components from stress fractures - a design feature unique to Banks among aftermarket diesel intake systems.
