Product Description

The Banks Power 42806-R is the red powder-coated Monster-Ram intake and killer grid heater upgrade for 2007.5-2012 Ram 3500, 4500, and 5500 Cab & Chassis trucks equipped with the 6.7L Cummins diesel. It is the chassis-cab-specific predecessor to the 42804-R (2013-2018 CC) and 42805 (2019-2024 CC), sharing the same Monster-Ram engineering platform adapted for the earlier generation Cummins chassis-cab intake routing.

The Monster-Ram replaces both of the most significant airflow and reliability problems on the 6.7L Cummins: the restrictive stock intake elbow and the failure-prone factory grid heater. The cramped, angular factory elbow is physically constrained by the routing of the No. 1 fuel line - Banks engineers redesigned that line to give the Monster-Ram casting a wide, direct flow path into the intake manifold. Combined with a 3-3/8" inlet and CFD-optimized internal geometry, the result is 72.7 lbs/min of MAF - compared to 38.6 lbs/min stock - an 88.3% improvement that more than doubles what any other intake upgrade achieves on this platform.

The factory grid heater is eliminated entirely and replaced with a Banks high-flow billet intake plate and a 750-watt vertical coil heater that maintains cold-start functionality down to -30°F/-34°C (with block heat) without obstructing airflow. The system is dual heat capable, accepting an optional second coil heater upgrade for up to 1,500 total watts for extreme cold-climate use.
