Product Description

The Banks 42175-D Ram-Air Cold Air Intake is a fully enclosed, CARB-compliant performance intake system built specifically for the 2007.5-2009 Dodge Ram 2500/3500 equipped with the 6.7L Cummins 24-valve diesel. Developed through CAD flow simulation, flowbench testing, and real-world density measurement against stock and competitors, this system flows up to 50% more than the factory intake while delivering higher air density at the turbocharger inlet - resulting in more power, improved fuel economy, and reduced EGTs and black smoke under heavy load or towing conditions.

The system's fully enclosed XLPE housing seals out hot engine bay air and routes cool, dense outside air through a large dome-shaped dry filter directly to the turbo compressor inlet. Banks' exclusive 4.5-inch bellows coupling - an aftermarket exclusive at the time of development - absorbs engine movement to protect all intake components from stress cracking and fatigue, extending the system's service life significantly beyond rigid-connection alternatives.
