Product Description

The Banks 19269 Ram-Air Differential Cover replaces the factory rear diff cover on 2001-2019 Chevy/GMC HD trucks and 2003-2018 Ram HD trucks equipped with the AAM 11.5" or 11.8" 14-bolt rear axle. After 18 months of testing, Banks Engineering identified two core failures in all competing aftermarket covers: poor airflow management and flawed internal fluid dynamics. The Ram-Air solution uses patented forward-facing scoops to force outside air into 24 deep external radiator fins, eliminating the dead air zone that forms behind the differential at speed. At the same time, 26 internal heat absorption fins pull heat from the fluid and transfer it outward -- a two-stage cooling system that cools 5x better than flat-backs in towing tests and 118% better in sustained 200 HP / 60 mph tests.

The internal design uses a ring gear raceway and directional fluid guides to route lubricant directly to the ring and pinion interface and axle bearings, reducing aeration and extending fluid and gear life. The cover retains factory fill volume and ground clearance. A dry-mount Viton O-ring eliminates RTV, and the 20° angled fill port plus magnetic drain plug simplify service. The 1/8" NPT port accepts an optional temp sensor. Ram-Air scoops break away if snagged. Note: 2014-2018 Ram trucks with OEM rear sway bar require Banks 19249-2 Sway Bar Spacer Kit.
