Fitment Notes

• This conversion kit is ONLY compatible with vehicles that already have an AWE Track Edition exhaust installed on their MK8/MK8.5 GTI. It is NOT a standalone catback exhaust system and cannot be installed without a pre-existing AWE Track Edition system.
• This kit converts the Track Edition configuration to the Touring Edition by adding AWE's patented 180 Technology® drone-canceling resonators in place of the Track Edition's straight rear pipe sections.
• The reverse conversion (Touring Edition to Track Edition) is available as a separate AWE part number. Both kits allow owners to swap freely between configurations without purchasing a completely new exhaust system.
• Compatible with both DSG (7-speed dual-clutch) and 6-speed manual transmission variants of the MK8/MK8.5 GTI.
• This product is 50-state emissions legal and does not tamper with any factory emissions control or monitoring devices.

The AWE Tuning 3810-11489 is the Track-to-Touring Conversion Kit for the 2022-2025 Volkswagen GTI MK8/MK8.5, designed for owners who have already installed an AWE Track Edition exhaust and want to reduce the aggressive mid-range volume without replacing the entire system. This kit is not a standalone exhaust - it works exclusively with the AWE Track Edition exhaust already mounted on the vehicle, adding AWE's patented 180 Technology® drone-canceling resonators in place of the Track Edition's straight rear pipe sections. The result is a Touring Edition character: civil and composed during highway cruising, while retaining the pops and burbles that make the Track Edition compelling under acceleration and during downshifts.

AWE's 180 Technology® resonators achieve drone cancellation without baffles or restrictive packing material that degrades over time. As exhaust gas flows through the resonators, it passes through strategically sized ports into reflection chambers, generating a sound wave precisely 180 degrees out of phase with the problematic drone frequencies. These opposing waves cancel each other while leaving all other frequencies - including the engaging on-throttle character - completely intact. Because the internals are not packing-based, the tone on day one is the tone you keep for the life of the system. The straight-through design preserves the performance benefits of the Track Edition without introducing additional backpressure.

Installation is a direct bolt-on using the existing AWE Track Edition mounting points, with all required clamps and hardware included. Should you ever want to return to Track Edition character, the companion AWE Touring-to-Track Conversion Kit (sold separately) makes the reversal equally straightforward - the AWE MK8 GTI exhaust suite was designed with this modular conversion philosophy from the ground up.
