The ATS Diesel 303-100-2188 GM Governor Pressure Solenoid Block Conversion Kit directly addresses one of the most well-known reliability issues of the 1996-2007 Dodge Ram 5.9L Cummins platform. The factory governor pressure solenoid in these transmissions is undersized and prone to failure, causing shuttle shifting, inconsistent shift quality, and DTCs including P01756, P01757, P01762, and P01763. ATS's solution replaces the entire unit with a precision cast aluminum manifold block and an oversized GM heavy-duty solenoid that delivers six times the actuation force - giving the transmission's metering valve the consistent, accurate control it needs to operate reliably under all conditions.

Installation is accessible without removing the transmission: drop the pan, pull the filter, remove six bolts, and install the new block with the included gasket. The GM solenoid design also handles the elevated line pressures produced by aftermarket valve bodies, making this kit a smart upgrade for both stock rebuilds and performance-built 47RE or 48RE transmissions.
